Professional Summary

Iman Ghasemi was born in 1997 in Isfahan,Iran. He was the best student during elementary and high school. He studied these periods at State Exemplary school. he studied hard and gained the ranking of top 3% in the "National Entrance Exam among all Iranian students in Math. & physics" (Summer 2015). 

Iman earned a B.Sc. degree in chemical engineering from Sahand University of Technology where he gained experience in water treatment by photocatalysis process under supervision of Prof. Mohammad Haghighi. Since 2017 he has joined Reactor and Catalysis Research Center (RCRC) (when he was in the 5th semester of his B.Sc) and working on the nanophotocatalysts synthesis and their applications in different organic dye degradation. His bachelor's thesis which is entitled "Heterostructure Nanophotocatalysts Synthesis for Degradation of Organic Pollutants from Aqueous Solution" was done under supervision of Prof. Mohammad Haghighi with a grade of 20/20.

Iman ranked top 10% among 97 bachelor students in Chemical Engineering at Sahand University of Technology. he was brilliant in passing all courses of Chemical Engineering with high grades successfully. 

In the summer of 2018, he worked for more than 3 months for “Azar Sahand Plastic Production Plant” as an intern in its quality control laboratory.

After that, he was eligible for applying to continue his education in the Master's Program at the Department of Chemical Engineering without taking the "National Entrance Exam for Graduate Schools", as a reward for being in the top 15 percent of the class. He continued his research period at Reactor and Catalysis Research Center (RCRC) during his M.Sc and could defend his thesis entitled ''Fabrication of Magnetic CuAl2O4/rGO Nanocomposite Using Coprecipitation-Solvothermal Method Treated by Ultrasound & Plasma Technologies for Removal of Organic Dye Pollutants''. Besides of his thesis, Iman also worked on "Biodiesel Production from Esterification and Transesterification Reaction via Eco-friendly Clay-supported Catalysts" during his master's program. Presentation of five articles in the international conferences, four articles in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, and collaboration in one accepted patent at Iran Intellectual Property Center; indicate his excellent records compared to other students.

His research interests include the synthesis of nanocatalysts and their application in air and water pollution control and treatment and biodiesel production, and the study of their reaction mechanisms and kinetics.
